Lady Gaga scares me...

Did you guys catch the VMAs? And did you guys see the freak-a-zoid named Lady Gaga? What the fuck is wrong with that person? Hermaphrodite or not that "creature" scares the erv loving crap outta me. And I'm not just talking of her blood drenched "Paparazzi" performance where at the end the blood has also transferred inside her eyes when she is "hung" but I'm talking about everytime they showed her with weird-ass red lacy crap on her face that was so gory that I bet Tarantino plans to use it in his next movie. And if not the red lace then the weird-ass white pokey feather nest on her face/surrounding her face. Dude, What IS up with you man? Please see a doctor. You tunes maybe catchy and what not but nothing can justify your dressing choice, performance choice and just about everything you do/say/wear. The red-carpet "appearance" of this creature looked like an offspring of Phantom of the Opera and a Crow.
I'm very very scared of this creature/person. Thank god she wasn't around when I was a kid, else I'd be scarred forever. I can totally imagine visiting a museum of the crazies, walking down the hall, seeing Hannibal Lecter and then next in line, Lady Gaga...

Megan Fox

I'm tired of her already and she has barely even arrived on the scene. Believe me, it's not jealousy (what is it with guys, if a girl doesn't like some famous woman, they assume it's jealousy...same thing when I say I dislike Aishawarya Rai) it's just that she is everything that is wrong in this world when it comes to male perspective or social perspective about women. Women should be proud of being hot and their sexuality etc. but using that for obvious titillation is what annoys me. Every pic of this Fox babe has an open mouth or a tongue sticking out teasingly. We all know what that is for, right?
Then there is this aping Anjelina Jolie thing...Hello? Atleast choose a role model who hasn't carried her lover's blood in a vial around her neck or frenchied her brother on the red carpet (Jolie is the epitomy of सौ चूहे खाके बिल्ली हज को चली). Her looks and even the spot she chose to have her tattoo is what makes me and many others think that.
Nobody who has sight has deny Fox's hotness. She is a total S-Bomb. But that doesnt mean I like her personality, her titillating personality, her desperation through plastic surgery to modify herself (boobs, lips, etc.) at such a young age, her publicty-inducing "naughty" interviews (catering to the lesbian fantasy or claiming she has mental illness) and so much more. I also heard her say she used to bite off or chop off the dolls' heads as a child and do weird stuff with that; honetly that scared me.
Oh well...I think my rant for today might be over...someone said dark hair and light eyes are the new blonde...but I still feel Scarlett Johansson is the sexiest hollywood babe no matter how dumb she is :-D

The name

Ther's a song called "Desi Girl" from a Bollywood movie called "Dostana" which is really popular. And though the moniker definitely comes from the song; it has most definitely been around since ages before that.
Dostana deals with the concept of homosexuality in commercial cinema. But sadly enough Bollywood always uses the concept for humor (humour in desi english). It has never been dealt with in the reality of the matter. The only other way Bollywood uses homosexuality is to titillate by depiction of girl-on-girl action. I still recall the promos of the ghastly "Girlfriend" movie with Ishaa Koppikar in it. Also there another one coming soon with Lisa Ray in it, though not a Bollywood production, it's from UK and its the same crap anyway. Eunuchs are also a source of humor in Indian Cinema (few exceptions being some movies which had great role from Paresh Rawal or Sadashiv Amrapurkar). I dont think the concept of Transgender will ever make it across for a few decades more in Des. Oh wait, Bobby Darling has kinda brought the concept through but her need for money has made her also succumb to the humor aspect of such roles.

Oh Well, I see I have totally digressed...but thats exactly what I started this blog for :-)
Delhi High Court and Supreme Court decriminalized sexual relations between persons of the same sex but that is not the same as legalizing the social relationship or legalizing their unions. Whats the point when someone who owns up to something like this will always ben made fun of, not just in real life but also in media of every form.

What's it about?

So here's the mandatory post about what this blog is about...It's just a blog about all things desi in this pardesi land of USA...
Desi means "of home"...but we Southeast Asians (as in Indians and Pakistanis and us other brown- refer to ourselves as Desis. We prefer that no one else call it though except for the ones who are indeed Desi :-D
Pardesi basically just means foreign land. I'm a Desi girl in a Pardesi land and this will be a blog of my observations and blabberings from my westernized desi point of view...got it? No? Well continue reading then :-)
